Ruparelia – The “Surprise”

Ruparelia was born February 2016, much to the surprise of Ngamba Island. Her birth made her the second “Surprise” in the family. Her mother, Kyewunyo, got her Lugandan name of “Surprise” when Katie unexpectedly gave birth to her in 2002. Although Ngamba chimps are on contraceptives, things sometimes don’t go as planned. Still, we are glad for Kyewunyo and Ruparelia. Who knows, you might just be “surprised” at how much fun adoption can be!
