Connie – The Loving Mother
We believe Connie is around 27 years old and, in 1998, was discovered and rescued by soldiers at an Army roadblock on the southwest border of Uganda. Today, when a new chimp arrives at Ngamba, Connie is the first to welcome them, show them ropes and protect them. Normally quiet and a lover of nest building, Connie will walk upright and clap her hands for attention during feeding time. But, like any mother, she still shares with her surrogate children so adopting Connie helps make sure she also takes care of herself!
